
Bangkok: An international art exhibition celebrating the theme of “Indian Gods & Goddesses” was held in Bangkok, highlighting the deep cultural and spiritual ties between India and Thailand. The event took place at Wat That Thong and was jointly organised by the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre under the Embassy of India, in collaboration with Suro Bharati Sangeet Kala Kendra and the host monastery.
The exhibition brought together artists and cultural enthusiasts in a vibrant display of artworks inspired by Indian deities, reflecting shared spiritual traditions across the region.
The event was graced by Phra Rajvorayanasobhon, who blessed the participating artists and presented certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contributions.
Delivering the opening remarks, Maj. (Dr.) Nattakit Chaichalermmongkhon of the Triratnabhumi Society underscored the importance of cultural and spiritual exchange through artistic expression.
Academic perspectives were shared by Thammasat University faculty member Dr. Rasita Sin-Ek-Iem, who spoke on the artistic representation of Indian deities, while author and researcher Anita Bose highlighted the enduring relevance of divine themes in preserving cultural heritage.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Arijit Chakraborty, who expressed gratitude to dignitaries, artists and attendees for making the exhibition a meaningful cultural engagement.
The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, scholars, artists and members of the Indian diaspora, marking the event as a significant cultural milestone in Bangkok.
