Daman: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Air Station Daman swiftly rescued nine fishermen after their fishing boat was reported to be sinking, posing an imminent threat to their lives.
On receiving the distress call on August 18, the Indian Coast Guard immediately launched a Chetak helicopter to the reported location. The helicopter reached the distressed boat promptly and successfully evacuated all nine fishermen to safety.
During the rescue operation, three fishermen were found to have sustained minor injuries. They were brought to ICGAS Daman, where they received first aid, and were subsequently shifted to a government hospital for further medical treatment.
The swift and coordinated response by the Indian Coast Guard averted a potential maritime accident and reaffirmed its commitment to saving lives at sea and ensuring the safety of fishermen and mariners.
