New Delhi: Professor KP Singh has been elected unopposed as President of the Delhi Library Association (DLA) for the 2026–2030 term, marking his second consecutive tenure at the helm of one of India’s oldest professional library bodies.
Currently serving as Head of the Department of Library and Information Science at University of Delhi, Prof. Singh brings extensive experience as an academician, administrator and researcher. His re-election reflects continued confidence in his leadership, under which the association achieved notable financial stability and organisational growth during the 2022–2026 term.
Announcing the new executive committee, Dr. Reetu Verma confirmed key appointments, including Prof. Meera as Senior Vice President, Dr. Kumar Sanjay as Vice-President, Dr. Jnanendra Narayan Singh as General Secretary, Dr. Mahesh Chand as Treasurer, and Dr. Taruna Joshi along with Mr. Rajkumar Patton as Secretaries.

Founded in 1939, the Delhi Library Association has played a pivotal role in advancing library education and research in India. It was established under the leadership of Sir John Philp Sargent and later revitalised in 1953 with support from prominent leaders like Chaudhary Brahm Prakash.
DLA officials expressed confidence that Prof. Singh’s second term will further strengthen the association’s legacy and expand its contribution to the academic and library sciences community.
On this auspicious occasion Sr. Professor Rakesh Kumar Bhatt, Dr. Pinki Sharma, Dr. Nivedita Sharma, Dr. Prabhat Kumar Choudhary, Dr. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Taruna Joshi, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Kumar Sanjay, Dr. Hans Raj, Shri Satvir Singh Khasa, Dr. Vinay Gupta, Mr. Umesh Gupta, Mr. Prateek Singh, Mr. Siddharth Rai, Dr. Ashok Kumar (Director, IGNOU) Mr. Parmeet Singh, Mr. Ashish Kumar, Mr. Punnet Pandey, Mr. KC Manoj, Mr. Rahul Kumar Singh, Ms. Mamta, Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, Ms. Upasana were presented.
