New Delhi: The Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Delhi will celebrate its 80th Foundation Day on April 21 at the Convention Hall, Vice Regal Lodge, marking eight decades of academic contribution since its establishment in 1946.
Mizoram Governor General (Dr.) VK Singh will attend the ceremony as Chief Guest, while Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh will preside over the function. Former Jhansi Commissioner Dr Ajay Shankar Pandey is slated to attend as Distinguished Guest.
The event is being organised in association with the Delhi University Library Science Students’ Association (DULSA) as part of its 80th Annual Day celebrations. The programme will begin at 1:30 pm and is expected to bring together academicians, students and distinguished guests from across the university community.
Professor KP Singh, Head, Library and Information Science, Director, Gandhi Bhawan, Provost, PG Men’s Hostel, Chairman, Governing Body, Aditi Mahavidyalaya & North-Eastern Hostel for Women, University of Delhi, has invited members of the academic fraternity and well-wishers to participate in the celebrations and commemorate the department’s long-standing role in teaching, research and knowledge services.
