Peshawar: Four customs officials were killed after militants opened fire at three separate locations in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday, officials said.
The attacks took place in Dera Ismail Khan district, where customs officials were deployed on duty near the border with South Waziristan. The four officials died in the firing, following which their bodies were taken to a hospital trauma centre.
According to officials, the attackers also targeted Revenue Board employees and traffic police personnel at separate locations across the district.
Police teams reached the sites following the shootings, collected evidence and launched an investigation. The attackers fled the area after carrying out the attacks, officials said.
