
Pankaj Nath, Assam , July 5: A review meeting on forest related matters was held on Saturday at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Kamrup, Assam , under the chairmanship of District Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra. The meeting discussed key issues including granting of Title Certificates to the remaining eligible Forest Dwellers under the Forest Rights Act, 2006, engagement of Gaon Pradhans in forest villages, installation of electrical poles and towers by APDCL and construction of water reservoirs by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in forest areas. To ensure timely resolution of forest related matters, the District Commissioner directed the concerned departments to conduct joint inspections with forest officials so that issues could be resolved on the spot through coordinated action.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Commissioner Pranjit Deb, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Kamrup East Forest Division, DFO, West Kamrup Forest Division, DFO, North Kamrup Division, Executive Engineer, PHE, Guwahati Division no. 1, CEO, APDCL, Guwahati Electrical Circle-II, Kamrup, and the President and Secretary of the Kamrup District Forest Rights Committee, along with other officials.
