Chandigarh: Five Punjab Police personnel have been selected for the Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak, while 20 others will be conferred the Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty on the occasion of Independence Day 2026.

The awards were announced by the Governor of Punjab on the recommendations of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, recognising the dedication and service of police personnel.

Senior Constable Lovepreet Singh, Constable Bobby Kumar, Lady Constable Charanjit, Lady Constable Mamta Rani and Senior Constable Angrej Singh have been nominated for the Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak.

Among the 20 recipients of the Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty are three PPS officers — SP Investigation Khanna Pawanjit, SP SPU Punjab Surendra Singh and DSP CID Unit Ludhiana Ashwani Kumar.

The other awardees are Inspector Rajesh Kumar, Inspector Gurmeet Singh, Inspector Davinder Singh, Inspector Satpal, Inspector Harshjot Kaur, Lady Sub-Inspector Inderjit Kaur, SI Sandeep Kumar, SI Karamjit Singh, SI Baldev Singh, SI Sukhwinder Singh, ASI Yadwinder Singh, ASI Narinder Sidhu, ASI Navtej Singh, ASI Jatinder Singh, Senior Constable Amanpreet Singh, Senior Constable Ramanpreet Singh and Senior Constable Amardeep Singh.

Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav congratulated all the awardees and thanked the Chief Minister-led Punjab Government for recognising the services of Punjab Police personnel.

Yadav said such recognition plays an important role in motivating the police force to perform its duties with greater dedication and devotion.
