Pankaj Nath , Assam: The first meeting of the MY Bharat District Advisory Committee, Kamrup, Assam was held at the District Commissioner’s Office, Amingaon, under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kamrup, Susanta Kumar Dutta. MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) is an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, aimed at creating an empowered, inspired and engaged youth force.
The platform provides meaningful opportunities for young people in the age group of 15–29 years to participate in nation-building through volunteerism, leadership development, community service, skill development and various social and developmental initiatives. Eligible youth can register on the official MY Bharat portal, mybharat.gov.in, to become a part of the initiative and access these opportunities. The meeting reviewed strategies to strengthen the ongoing MY Bharat registration drive across Kamrup district and discussed measures to ensure greater participation of eligible youth. Chairing the meeting, DDC emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all departments for the successful implementation of the initiative.
He urged departments to work closely with Panchayati Raj Institutions, educational institutions and colleges to create awareness and encourage youth registration. He also suggested that colleges constitute internal coordination teams under the leadership of their respective principals to facilitate registration and ensure effective coordination with the district administration. The meeting was attended by ADC Monika Borgohain; Assistant Director of Employment; Deputy CEO, Zilla Parishad; District Youth Officer; Cultural Development Officer; Youth Officer, NSS NER; DIPRO; DPM (Skill Development); Assistant Professors; and representatives of college NSS Units.
