
NEW DELHI — In a major moment for Indian deep-tech innovation, EyeROV presented its indigenous underwater drone technology to world leaders during the BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, visited the EyeROV pavilion at the Bharat Innovation Exhibition.
During the VIP walkthrough, Mr. Johns Mathai, Co-founder of EyeROV, demonstrated the company’s advanced micro-ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) technology. He briefed the dignitaries on the underwater drone’s applications in underwater inspection, defense, infrastructure maintenance, security, and marine research.
The visiting heads of state engaged in an interaction, observing the compact design and operational capabilities of the indigenous underwater vehicle, which highlights India’s growing footprint in marine robotics and blue-economy innovation.
Speaking on the interaction, Mr. Johns Mathai shared: “It is an absolute honor to showcase our indigenous underwater drone technology to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and global leaders at the BRICS Summit. This interaction underscores the immense potential of Indian deep-tech startups on the world stage as we continue to push boundaries in underwater robotics, safety, and infrastructure inspection.”
