The District Administration informed that relief distribution has already been carried out in the affected areas of Palashbari and North Guwahati. To provide shelter to flood affected families, relief camps have been set up at Bengali LP School, Amingaon and Amingaon Higher Secondary School under North Guwahati Revenue Circle. These camps will remain operational until the flood situation returns to normal. A comprehensive review of the preparedness plans of various departments, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs, Indian Army, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Health, Water Resources and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), was undertaken to ensure timely and coordinated response during any emergency.

The District Commissioner directed that no leave shall be granted to officials and staff of departments directly involved in flood response during the ongoing emergency period. He further instructed that response teams must remain on high alert and promptly visit vulnerable and affected areas whenever required to assess the situation and provide immediate assistance. The meeting also discussed the operationalisation of the new District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) building, from where dedicated teams will function on a 24×7 rotational basis to ensure continuous monitoring, coordination and emergency response throughout the flood period. The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Siddhartha Goswami; District Development Commissioner Susanta Kumar Dutta; Additional District Commissioner (DDMA) Bikram Chetri; Co-District Commissioners; Circle Officers; the District Project Officer, DDMA and officers from all concerned departments.
