
Pankaj Nath, Assam , September 16: A district-level meeting to review the preparedness and programmes to be undertaken by various departments during the month-long “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” was held today at the Conference Hall of the Integrated District Commissioner Office, Kamrup, Amingaon, under the chairmanship of Deba Kumar Mishra, District Commissioner, Kamrup. The meeting discussed in detail the programmes and activities proposed to be undertaken by different departments during the month-long observance of “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” from September 17 to October 17, 2026. The District Commissioner reviewed the department-wise preparedness, planning and proposed implementation of the activities. Special emphasis was laid on effective last-mile delivery of public services, citizen-centric governance, welfare of vulnerable sections of society, and ensuring that government services and welfare measures reach the intended beneficiaries in a timely and effective manner. The meeting also discussed the importance of recognising and encouraging those engaged in public service and contributing to the delivery of services to citizens. The meeting deliberated on various activities relating to health, social welfare, cleanliness, public awareness, social service and citizen participation. The District Commissioner emphasised the need to take the programmes to the grassroots level so that people across different areas of the district can actively participate and benefit from the initiatives. The District Commissioner directed the concerned departments to plan their respective activities and ensure their smooth implementation through effective inter-departmental coordination and convergence. He particularly stressed the importance of ensuring that public services and welfare-oriented initiatives reach the last mile and that the intended beneficiaries receive the benefits effectively. The meeting also discussed coordination and cooperation among different departments, timely implementation of the programmes and ensuring wider public participation. Emphasis was also laid on publicity, documentation and timely reporting of the activities undertaken during the campaign period. The District Commissioner directed all concerned departments to complete the necessary preparations and ensure that the programmes scheduled from September 17 to October 17 are implemented in a well-planned, coordinated and systematic manner throughout Kamrup district. The meeting was attended by Siddhartha Goswami, Chief Executive Officer, Kamrup Zila Parishad, Garga Mohan Das, District Development Commissioner, Kamrup, Additional District Commissioners Aditya Gogoi, Geetashri Lachit, Debashis Goswami and Monika Borgohain along with officials of various line departments.
