New Delhi: Reinforcing Delhi’s vision of creating globally competitive students, Education Minister Ashish Sood flagged off the second batch of CM SHRI students from Delhi Government Schools for an international academic journey to Germany and Japan, marking another significant step in expanding world-class learning opportunities.
Interacting with the students before their departure, Minister Ashish Sood extended his best wishes and urged them to excel on the global stage while making India proud. The initiative reflects the Delhi Government’s continued focus on providing international exposure and career-oriented education to students from government schools.
Under the APAL Programme, the Delhi Government has significantly expanded overseas academic opportunities. While 14 students travelled to Germany last year, 24 students are heading there this year, highlighting the programme’s rapid growth and wider reach.
The selected students will participate in Germany’s globally acclaimed dual vocational training system, which combines classroom education with paid industry training after German language and intercultural preparation. The programme spans 2 to 3.5 years, enabling students to gain internationally recognised qualifications along with practical work experience and a monthly training stipend.
Further strengthening Delhi’s global education footprint, two students have secured scholarships to study at the Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Japan, one student has gained admission to RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and two students have been awarded the prestigious MEXT Scholarship by the Government of Japan.
The latest international academic mission underscores the Delhi Government’s commitment to equipping students with global exposure, advanced skills, language proficiency and internationally recognised educational pathways, with Education Minister Ashish Sood leading efforts to expand opportunities for government school students.
