New Delhi: The Delhi Government has constituted the Delhi Commission for Women and the Delhi Minorities Commission, marking a major step towards strengthening women’s empowerment, minority welfare and the protection of constitutional rights under the direction of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
As per the appointments, Lata Gupta will head the Delhi Commission for Women, with Shyam Bala, Malti Verma, Lata Sodhi, Sanrika Sharma Jha, and Renu Bhalla serving as Members. The Delhi Minorities Commission will be chaired by Nirmal Jain, with Kuldeep Singh and Mohammad Haroon appointed as Members.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the move reflects the Delhi Government’s commitment to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on good governance, women’s empowerment, social justice and inclusive development. She said both commissions would serve as key institutions to safeguard rights, strengthen public trust and ensure timely grievance redressal for women and minority communities.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the newly appointed Chairpersons and Members would function with fairness, transparency and sensitivity, helping deliver effective justice and welfare initiatives while ensuring dignity, safety and equal opportunities for every section of society.
