New Delhi: Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor on Tuesday accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Saurabh Bharadwaj, of staging a political drama over the arrest of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka.

Kapoor alleged that the two youths had been misled by Kejriwal and other AAP leaders into believing that they could carry out their activities without facing strict action from the Delhi Police.
According to the BJP spokesperson, the CJP leaders were prepared to be detained and released repeatedly but had never expected to be sent to jail. He claimed that their arrest had prompted an outcry from AAP leaders, who were now issuing statements in their support.
Kapoor further alleged that Das and Ranka had stated in several interviews that they left the AAP to earn money. He also referred to allegations of foreign funding involving CJP, which he said had appeared in the media and on social media since the organisation’s inception. Kapoor alleged that Abhijit Dipke, Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and others had benefited from such funding.
The BJP spokesperson urged Kejriwal and his team to stop using young people to fight their political battles. He said the youths would eventually understand what he described as the political game being played with them and would not forgive those who had allegedly misled them.
Kapoor’s remarks came amid a war of words between the BJP and AAP over the arrest of the two CJP leaders.
