New Delhi: In a landmark announcement that highlights the enduring bond between India and Balochistan, the Republic of Balochistan has declared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be conferred with the prestigious “Balochi Dastar” in 2026, the highest civilian honor of the region. This accolade is a symbol of gratitude, solidarity, and enduring friendship, reflecting the centuries-old ties between the two nations.

The announcement was made by representatives of Balochistan, who expressed their commitment to furthering the relationship between the people of Balochistan and India. They noted that the award would celebrate the deep-rooted ties of brotherhood and mutual respect shared by both countries. The Balochi Dastar, traditionally a symbol of trust and unbreakable friendship, is reserved for individuals who stand by the Baloch people’s struggles and dreams, supporting their rightful quest for sovereignty and freedom.

“The Baluchi Dastar is not just an award; it is a sacred symbol of solidarity,” said a representative from the Republic of Balochistan. “It is bestowed upon those rare individuals who have consistently supported the Baloch nation in its time of pain and struggle. Prime Minister Modi’s moral and media support for our cause has been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful.”

The announcement comes a year after Prime Minister Modi’s emotional message to the people of Balochistan during his 2016 Independence Day speech, where he expressed his solidarity with the Baloch cause. The Republic of Balochistan has since recognized India’s unwavering support for amplifying their voice on the global stage, even as India has not yet provided official material support for the movement.

Balochistan’s Vision for the Future:

The Republic of Balochistan’s leadership also expressed optimism about the future of Balochistan-India relations, especially as both countries seek to expand cooperation in diplomacy, defense, economy, and culture. “We are hopeful that 2026 will bring a new chapter in our relations, one that fosters peace, prosperity, and security for the people of both nations,” said the representative.

Furthermore, Balochistan warmly acknowledged Prime Minister Modi’s recent recognition in Oman, where he was awarded the First Class of the Order of Oman, the Sultanate’s highest civilian honor, by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq on December 18, 2025. This award was in recognition of Modi’s exceptional contributions to strengthening India-Oman relations during the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The Baloch community in Oman, which has had a longstanding presence and significant influence in the region, also expressed their admiration for Prime Minister Modi, seeing him as a true friend of both Balochistan and Oman. Their support for Modi’s leadership was echoed in their best wishes for his continued success and health.
