Balochistan: The banned militant outfit Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a coordinated attack on a Pakistani military camp in the Sherjan Agha area of Nushki district, alleging that around 20 Pakistani Army personnel, including senior officers, were killed and several others injured during a three-hour gun battle.

According to a press statement issued by the group’s spokesperson, Azad Baloch, the attack was carried out on the night of July 23, when BLA fighters allegedly targeted what it described as a strategically important military installation using automatic weapons, sniper fire, rocket launchers and grenades.

The statement further claimed that Pakistani authorities had officially acknowledged the deaths of only three security personnel, including Sepoy Aqib Nawaz Khosa, Sepoy Safdar and Lance Naik Naiman, while alleging that the actual casualty count was significantly higher. The group also asserted, without providing independent evidence, that multiple ambulances and helicopters were seen moving towards the military camp following the attack.

The BLA claimed the firefight lasted nearly three hours, during which Pakistani forces allegedly called for reinforcements and used armed drones for surveillance operations.

The militant group reiterated its claim of responsibility for the attack and stated that it intends to continue its armed campaign in Balochistan.

The claims made in the BLA statement could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate official response from the Pakistani military regarding the group’s assertions beyond the casualties it has publicly acknowledged.
