NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor on Wednesday alleged that a press conference addressed by lawyer Prashant Bhushan, actor Prakash Raj, Abhijit Deepke and Neha Bora was aimed not at addressing youth concerns over education and employment, but at engineering a change of government.
Kapoor claimed that the event exposed what he described as a political conspiracy to influence young people in their 20s and 30s under the banner of a movement focused on education and jobs, while opposing both Congress and BJP governments.
Targeting Bhushan, Kapoor said he had opposed successive governments over the past four decades and recalled that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal had humiliated and expelled him from the party. He questioned Bhushan’s renewed political ambitions, alleging that he was now seeking a change of government with the support of Abhijit Deepke, whom he described as “Kejriwal Part 2”.
Kapoor also criticised actor Prakash Raj, referring to his unsuccessful Lok Sabha election campaign from Bengaluru, his hometown. He claimed that Raj had forfeited his security deposit after losing to the BJP candidate and accused him of now attempting to influence young voters.
The BJP spokesperson questioned the motives of the participants and maintained that the initiative was political rather than a genuine youth-led campaign for education and employment.
