Balvinder Singh Congratulates S. Harjeet Singh on Appointment as Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities

SUNDERBANI, Today S. Balvinder Singh, State Convenor BJP POJK Refugee Cell, Jammu & Kashmir UT, has extended his heartiest congratulations to S. Harjeet Singh Grewal Ji on his appointment as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities, Government of India.
Mr. Singh also conveyed his warm congratulations to Mrs Munabari Begum on her appointment as Vice Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities. He wished her a successful tenure and expressed confidence that, together with the Chairperson, she would make a significant contribution towards safeguarding the rights and welfare of minority communities across the country.
In his congratulatory message, Soodan said that the appointment of S. Harjeet Singh Grewal Ji is a well-deserved recognition of his dedication, visionary leadership, and lifelong commitment to public service. He expressed confidence that, under Grewal Ji’s able leadership, the National Commission for Minorities will continue to work effectively for the protection of the rights, welfare, and socio-economic empowerment of minority communities across the country while strengthening the principles of justice, equality, and inclusive development.
S. Balvinder Singh also expressed hope that the long-pending demand for the establishment of a Minority Commission in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir would receive due consideration during the tenure of the newly appointed Chairperson. He stated that the minority communities of J&K have been awaiting the constitution of a dedicated Minority Commission for several years, and its establishment would provide an effective institutional mechanism for safeguarding their rights, addressing their grievances, and promoting their overall welfare.

Singh further appealed to the Chairperson to support the long-standing demand of the Punjabi-speaking community for granting Punjabi the status of an Official Language in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that Punjabi has a rich historical, cultural, and literary heritage in Jammu & Kashmir and deserves due recognition. He expressed hope that appropriate steps would be taken to strengthen and promote the language in the Union Territory.
Expressing confidence in the leadership of S. Harjeet Singh Grewal Ji and Vice Chairperson Mrs. Begamon, Soodan said he sincerely hopes that these genuine and long-pending aspirations of the minority and Punjabi-speaking communities of Jammu & Kashmir will receive positive attention and meaningful support.
Conveying his best wishes, Soodan prayed that Waheguru Ji bless S. Harjeet Singh Grewal Ji and Mrs.Munabari Begum ji with good health, wisdom, strength, and continued success in serving the nation through their prestigious responsibilities.
