The Republic of Balochistan has welcomed Israel’s decision to recognise the Republic of Somaliland and announced its intention to establish diplomatic relations with Israel, describing the move as the start of a new era of regional solidarity.
In a statement issued on Friday, Balochistan hailed what it called a “historic milestone” following the announcement of mutual recognition and the establishment of full diplomatic relations between Israel and Somaliland. Israel is described as the first country to formally recognise Somaliland’s sovereignty, a development the statement said followed decades of Somaliland’s pursuit of self-governance in the Horn of Africa.
Citing the spirit of the Abraham Accords, Balochistan’s leadership congratulated both parties and said the decision would strengthen international cooperation, innovation and peace across regions.
As a “diplomatic and friendly gesture” towards Israel, the Republic of Balochistan declared its formal recognition of the State of Israel as a sovereign nation and said it would seek to establish diplomatic ties in the near future. The statement also invited the Israeli government to extend reciprocal recognition to what Balochistan describes as its own independence and sovereignty.
According to the declaration, closer ties between Balochistan and Israel could contribute to regional stability, with the statement asserting that cooperation would help counter proxy networks allegedly supported by Pakistan, Turkey and Iran. These claims were presented as Balochistan’s position.
The statement further outlined Balochistan’s strategic ambitions, saying its coastline and ports could support secure maritime trade and would not be used for piracy or smuggling. It also highlighted the territory’s mineral resources as an area for potential international cooperation and development.
Balochistan urged regional and international actors to begin diplomatic engagement with it, proposing collaboration in technology, agriculture, infrastructure and defence. The statement said such partnerships would support what it described as the Baloch people’s pursuit of peace and progress.
The declaration also criticised Pakistan’s stance towards Israel and its role in Middle Eastern affairs. It expressed concern over Pakistan’s involvement in Gaza-related diplomacy and alleged that elements within Pakistan had hosted Hamas leaders earlier in 2025. The statement further accused Pakistani forces of committing abuses against the Baloch population, claims which are strongly disputed by Islamabad.
The statement concluded by saying that the people of Balochistan aspire to build constructive relations with the international community, grounded in mutual respect and cooperation.
