The Republic of Balochistan has called on Pakistan to immediately withdraw its forces from all territories occupied in Balochistan and Afghanistan, urging the establishment of a joint defense pact between Balochistan and Afghanistan to stop Pakistan’s ongoing aggression.
In a strong statement released on December 6, the Balochistan government condemned the unprovoked attack carried out by Pakistan’s military forces on December 5, targeting Afghanistan, a close ally and neighbor of Balochistan. The Republic of Balochistan declared its solidarity with Afghanistan and reaffirmed its condemnation of Pakistan’s aggression.
The statement, issued by the leadership of Balochistan, emphasized that Pakistan’s continued presence in Balochistan—since the forcible occupation of the region in March 1948—remains a grave threat to regional stability. The Balochistani leadership called for the immediate withdrawal of Pakistan’s military, air force, and navy from the disputed territories of Balochistan and Pashtunistan, warning that Pakistan’s interventionist policies have destabilized both Balochistan and Afghanistan for decades.
“The invasion of Balochistan by Pakistan has destabilized the region since 1948,” said the Republic of Balochistan in its official release. “Pakistan has not only exploited Balochistan’s resources for its own benefit but has also consistently interfered in Afghanistan’s internal affairs, first by using Balochistan’s territory to destabilize the Soviet Union and later by sheltering Osama bin Laden post-9/11. The Pakistani military’s continued interference in Afghanistan only serves to deepen factionalism and perpetuate instability.”
The Republic of Balochistan further urged the international community to act, calling for an emergency meeting under the auspices of the United Nations, with the participation of regional powers and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council—the United States, China, France, the UK, and Russia. This meeting, according to Balochistan’s leadership, would address the urgent need to end Pakistan’s illegitimate occupation of Balochistan and Afghanistan and halt its destabilizing activities in the region.
“The presence of Pakistani military forces in Balochistan poses a direct threat not only to Afghanistan but also to global peace,” the statement continued. “Balochistan is rich in resources, and Pakistan has been using these resources to fund its nuclear weapons program and support proxy wars, further destabilizing the region and threatening countries like India and Israel.”
The Republic of Balochistan called for global recognition of Balochistan as an independent nation, arguing that only through independence could Balochistan effectively curb Pakistan’s use of its territory for terrorism and regional destabilization.
The Republic also reached out to key global figures and organizations, including former Afghan leaders Hamid Karzai and Ashraf Ghani, and international bodies such as the United Nations, the US, the UK, and Russia, to push for greater support for Balochistan’s sovereignty and peace in the region.
