International Desk: The Republic of Balochistan has issued a strongly worded statement rejecting any form of dialogue with Pakistan, urging individuals advocating renewed India-Pakistan engagement not to “normalise” what it described as Pakistan’s terrorism.
In a statement released on July 1, the organisation criticised a joint letter reportedly signed by parliamentarians and public figures from India and Pakistan calling for the resumption of bilateral dialogue. It claimed the appeal ignored the “ground realities” and alleged that portraying Pakistan as a normal state only served Islamabad’s diplomatic interests.
The statement further asserted that Balochistan considers itself independent and is seeking international recognition, maintaining that it would remain detached from any official or unofficial engagement with Pakistan. It also claimed that no Baloch representatives were among the signatories of the joint letter.
The organisation appealed to the Government of India and the Indian public to recognise Balochistan’s claimed independence, establish diplomatic relations, expand trade, and encourage people-to-people exchanges. It also called for Pakistan to be designated internationally as a terrorist state.
The statement additionally repeated a series of political and territorial claims regarding Pakistan, Sindh, Kashmir, and regional trade routes, while alleging state-sponsored terrorism and human rights abuses against the Baloch people. These assertions remain disputed by Pakistan and have not been independently verified.
The statement was published through the Republic of Balochistan’s official X account and tagged senior Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
