Quetta/New Delhi: The Republic of Balochistan has called for the immediate withdrawal of Pakistan’s Army, Frontier Corps (FC), Navy and Air Force from Balochistan, alleging that the continued military presence is damaging the region’s economy and disrupting civilian life.

In a statement issued on September 5, the organisation described Pakistan’s military presence in Balochistan as “illegal” and urged Islamabad to withdraw its forces to Punjab.

The Republic of Balochistan claimed that the region’s strategic location gives it access to Central Asia, Europe and the Gulf region and asserted that Balochistan does not depend on Pakistan for its economic survival. It further alleged that Pakistan’s economy, defence infrastructure and national resources are heavily dependent on the exploitation of Balochistan’s natural and coastal wealth.

The statement claimed that Balochistan’s population had made an “irreversible decision” to oppose what it described as the systematic exploitation of the region’s resources.

Claim of 90% Loss of Ground Control

The organisation further claimed that Pakistan’s ground control over Balochistan had been reduced by up to 90%, alleging that Pakistani security forces were now largely confined to military cantonments in areas including Quetta, Kalat, Khuzdar, Nushki, Gwadar and Mastung.

It also claimed that Pakistani military and security installations were being fortified with trenches, cement barriers and barbed wire amid growing security concerns.

These battlefield claims could not be independently verified from the material provided.

The Republic of Balochistan also called on international media organisations, the United Nations and other international bodies to visit remote parts of the region through its representatives to assess the situation on the ground.

Warning to Pakistan’s Military Leadership

The statement accused Pakistan of ignoring international law and urged its military leadership to reconsider its continued deployment in Balochistan.

Referring to the 1971 surrender of Pakistani forces in what was then East Pakistan, the statement compared the leadership of General A.A.K. Niazi with that of Pakistan’s current army chief, General Asim Munir. It alleged that Pakistan could face heavy military losses if it continued its operations in Balochistan.
