International Desk: Balochistan’s resistance movement has once again demonstrated its ability to challenge Pakistani security forces, with armed Baloch fighters reportedly taking control of Saranan town in Pishin district on Thursday.

Around 13 to 14 armed fighters reportedly entered Saranan at approximately 5pm and established control over the town. In a significant development, the fighters are said to have evacuated the police personnel from the station before destroying the building in a powerful explosion.

The blast reduced the police station to rubble within moments, marking another striking episode in the continuing confrontation between Baloch armed groups and Pakistani security forces.

Baloch Fighters Patrol Saranan

Following the destruction of the police station, the fighters reportedly patrolled Saranan’s streets and carried out vehicle checks at several locations. Their presence across the town underlined the extent of the temporary control they had established.

The incident also comes amid mounting tensions across Balochistan, where armed Baloch groups have continued to challenge Pakistan’s security apparatus and assert their opposition to Islamabad’s rule over the region.

Pakistan Faces Growing Security Challenge

Violence has intensified across Balochistan in recent months, with attacks involving Baloch armed groups and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). More than 110 Pakistani military and Frontier Corps personnel have reportedly been killed over the past two months.

Pakistan has responded with Operation Radd-ul-Fitna, targeting armed groups and their alleged strongholds. According to the figures cited in the report, more than 35 Baloch fighters and over 18 TTP militants have been killed during the military campaign, while more than 48 civilians have also reportedly lost their lives.

The Saranan episode represents another setback for Pakistan’s security establishment and highlights the continuing determination and operational reach of Baloch armed groups in a conflict that remains deeply entrenched across Balochistan.
