Islamabad: Balochistan’s separatist movement has renewed its international push against Pakistan, with Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) chief Dr Allah Nazar Baloch declaring that complete independence is the only acceptable solution for the resource-rich province.

In an interview with The Sunday Guardian, Allah Nazar rejected autonomy and political concessions, arguing that the Baloch struggle must now move towards full independence from Pakistan. He also appealed directly to India and the wider international community for political, diplomatic and moral support.

Allah Nazar described India as a major regional power and the world’s largest democracy, arguing that New Delhi should support the Baloch independence movement. He also expressed the hope that the Balochistan issue could receive greater attention at international forums, including the United Nations.

Direct Appeal to New Delhi

Allah Nazar’s appeal comes against the backdrop of long-running Pakistani allegations that India supports Baloch armed groups—claims New Delhi has consistently rejected.

While dismissing Islamabad’s allegations as propaganda, the BLF leader said he hoped India would support the Baloch cause through political, diplomatic and other peaceful avenues. He did not publicly demand specific military assistance from India, instead emphasising political, diplomatic and moral backing.

His remarks represent a direct attempt by Baloch separatist leadership to internationalise its campaign against Pakistan and bring greater diplomatic attention to its demand for independence.

Warning to Foreign Investors

Allah Nazar also issued a pointed warning to multinational companies investing in Balochistan’s mineral sector. He claimed that the movement’s younger generation was developing new strategies and suggested that foreign companies involved in exploiting the province’s mineral wealth could potentially face attacks.

The warning carries particular significance because Balochistan possesses substantial mineral and natural resources and has attracted investment in mining, energy and infrastructure projects. Security concerns have remained a major challenge for such projects.

Allah Nazar claimed that the BLF did not support the killing of civilians. He accused Pakistan’s military of conducting air strikes in civilian areas and alleged that women, children and elderly people had been killed.

Pakistan, however, has accused Baloch armed organisations, including the BLF, of carrying out violent attacks against security personnel and other targets. Consequently, claims made by either side require independent verification before being treated as established facts.

Reaction to US Action Against BLA

Allah Nazar also commented on the United States’ designation of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its Majeed Brigade as Foreign Terrorist Organisations.

He argued that Washington and other major powers maintain strategic interests in Pakistan and suggested that US policy could change if circumstances evolve. Referring to Syria, he claimed that Washington had previously reassessed positions based on changing geopolitical conditions.

Pakistan Faces Fresh Diplomatic Pressure

Allah Nazar’s latest remarks underline the Baloch separatist movement’s effort to take its campaign beyond Pakistan’s borders and seek wider international political and diplomatic backing.

His direct appeal to India, combined with warnings directed at foreign investors in Balochistan, presents another sensitive challenge for Islamabad as it seeks to maintain control over the strategically important province and its vast natural resources.

However, there has been no announcement of official Indian support for Allah Nazar or the BLF. His remarks therefore represent the position and demands of Baloch separatist leadership, rather than any declared shift in India’s foreign or security policy.
