Why Is the Quality of Morality in Politics and Public Life Going Down?

Pankaj Nath, Assam: The Nagaon District Administration in Assam rolled out a vibrant bike rally on Thursday as part of the nationwide “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, building momentum ahead of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.
Flagged off from the DC Office premises, the rally wound through Clock Tower and Uriagaon Chowk-Borghat before culminating at Neherubali. Each participating bike proudly displayed the National Tricolor.
District Commissioner Debashish Sharma inaugurated the rally and joined the participants. Speaking at the event, he emphasized the deeper message behind the campaign:
“Respect for the National Flag must be matched with responsibility toward human life. A safe and disciplined society is built when we follow traffic rules, avoid rash driving, and ensure every two-wheeler rider wears a helmet.”
Senior officials including Additional Commissioner Mrinul Boro, DTO Seemanta Bora, and DIPRO Bikash Sharma were present to support the initiative.
In a special video message, DC Sharma called upon citizens to hoist the National Flag at homes, offices, and on public transport vehicles with dignity, as part of both the 80th Independence Day and the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’. He also encouraged mass participation in collective renditions of ‘Vande Mataram’ and other patriotic activities.
Complementing the rally, a “Har Ghar Tiranga” photo exhibition was inaugurated at Shaheed Bhawan. The exhibition features powerful images documenting key moments from India’s freedom struggle. The DC has invited students and the public to visit and draw inspiration from the nation’s history.
