Thai youth also won everyone’s heart by entering the arena
The most emotional and memorable moment of the Dangal occurred when a Thai youth, approximately 24-25 years old, expressed his desire to enter the arena and wrestle with Indian wrestlers. The committee honored his wish and gave him the opportunity to enter the arena.
He was defeated by an Indian wrestler in the first bout, but he remained undeterred. Referee Mr. Shivchand Yadav encouraged him and gave him a second chance. He was defeated in the second bout as well, but his spirit and sportsmanship won the hearts of everyone present.
After this, Mr. Govind Yadav took him by the hand and led him around the arena, encouraging him. The organizing committee and the attendees honored him with a turban, garland, and a cash prize. The Thai youth was overjoyed by this honor, and this moment became the most emotional and inspiring scene of the entire Dangal. This example of brotherhood and sportsmanship between Indians and Thais was memorable for everyone.
To encourage the wrestlers, the organizers and community members offered generous prizes. Mr. Makool Yadav specifically encouraged the wrestlers in various wrestling events and presented cash prizes on his own behalf. Mr. Raju Yadav also generously honored and rewarded the wrestlers.
Many activists and social workers, including Awadhesh Yadav, Mr. Sangam Yadav, Mr. Bhagwan Das Yadav, Mr. Sanjay Yadav, Mr. Manoj Shukla, Mr. Gopal Yadav, and Mr. Abhay Yadav, played a significant role in making this event a success. Together, they contributed to the organization and success of the Dangal.
The championship wrestling match, the final round of the Dangal, also ended in a draw. After which, the temple’s head, Mr. Vinod Singh, congratulated all the wrestlers, organizers, workers, and spectators present. He stated that this year’s Dangal was a spectacular event, and the large attendance further enhanced the event’s success.
He stated that efforts will continue to keep Indian culture, tradition, and the ancient heritage of wrestling alive by organizing similar wrestling events every year on the occasion of Nag Panchami at the Vishnu Temple.
The program concluded with chants of Jai Bajrangbali and Lord Hanuman. The entire temple complex echoed with chants of Bharat Mata, Bajrangbali, and Sanatan culture. This tradition of wrestling, rooted in Indian soil, on the soil of Thailand, once again conveyed the message that even while living thousands of kilometers away from home, Indians are faithfully preserving their culture, tradition, and mutual brotherhood.
This grand wrestling competition on Nag Panchami not only showcased the strength of the wrestlers, but also sent a beautiful message of love, brotherhood, and sportsmanship between India and Thailand.
