Separatist representative urges India, Afghanistan and Western nations to pursue trade and strategic ties with The Republic of Balochistan

The Republic of Balochistan has called on the international community to recognise its claimed independence, establish economic and strategic partnerships with the territory, and develop land and maritime trade routes, according to a press statement issued by its representative, Mir Yar Baloch.
In the statement dated Friday, the representative urged India, Afghanistan, the United States and other Western countries to engage directly with Balochistan, citing its coastline, deep-water access, ports and natural resources as potential assets for regional trade and economic development.
The statement argued that closer international engagement with Balochistan could contribute to regional stability and reduce dependence on Pakistan. It also accused Islamabad of misrepresenting Balochistan’s geographical significance and natural wealth in international forums over several decades. These allegations could not be independently verified from the statement alone.
Nuclear concerns and regional security
The press note raised concerns about the potential proliferation of nuclear weapons and the risks of military cooperation involving Pakistan, Iran and other regional powers. It alleged that Pakistan could facilitate the transfer of tactical nuclear weapons to Iran, Turkey or extremist groups, warning of possible consequences for Israel and wider regional security.
However, the statement did not provide evidence substantiating the alleged plans for nuclear transfers. The claims should therefore be treated as allegations made by the issuing representative, rather than established developments.
The statement also criticised US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s reported position that Washington would need to maintain relations with Pakistan. It argued that continued engagement with Islamabad without addressing its alleged security-related conduct could expose the international community to further terrorist threats.
Trade routes and international recognition
Highlighting Balochistan’s strategic location along the Arabian Sea, the representative said the territory could serve as a corridor for commerce connecting Afghanistan, India and other regional markets. The statement identified Gwadar and Balochistan’s wider natural-resource base as central to its economic argument.
It urged the United States, European countries and neighbouring states to take what it described as practical steps towards recognising Balochistan’s independence and developing trade links.
The statement, issued in the name of the Republic of Balochistan, reflects the political position of its representative. It does not establish international recognition of Balochistan as an independent state, and the proposals outlined have not been accompanied by evidence of formal agreements with the countries mentioned.
