India: ‘Seva Sankalp’ to Spotlight 25 Years of PM Modi’s Public Service

New Delhi: The Delhi Government and Delhi BJP will jointly launch a month-long “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” from September 17 to October 17, celebrating 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s journey of public service and dedication.

The campaign, part of a national action plan, will showcase Modi’s long public-service journey through a series of programmes across Delhi, with the focus on his vision of a developed India.

Announcing the initiative at a Delhi BJP meeting chaired by Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra and attended by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the leaders said the campaign would revolve around three key dates — September 17, Modi’s birthday; October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi; and October 7, marking 25 years of Modi’s journey as a public servant.

The campaign will begin on September 17 with a blood donation camp, followed by a wide range of public-service and awareness programmes involving the Delhi Government, Delhi BJP and their joint organisational efforts.

The initiative will feature blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, illumination of achievement sites and painting competitions highlighting the achievements of 12 years of government and the vision of a developed India.

Other major programmes will include “Namo Seva Gatha” street plays, felicitation of Anganwadi and ASHA workers, the “Seva Jyoti Yatra” from Vadnagar to Varanasi and the National Youth Initiative Challenge.

Malhotra announced that NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal will serve as the National Observer, while Delhi Government Minister Kapil Mishra will be the Nodal Minister. Delhi BJP General Secretary Yogita Singh will serve as State Convenor.

The campaign committee will comprise Raja Iqbal Singh, Richa Pandey, Manoj Kumar, Divya Jaiswal, Rajat Tandon and Abhishek Tandon.

Chahal, addressing the meeting, expressed confidence that Delhi’s programmes would emerge among the best in the country.

Ministers of the Delhi Government, Delhi BJP office-bearers and senior party workers will participate in the month-long campaign, which seeks to place public service and Modi’s 25-year journey at the centre of a series of grassroots initiatives.
