Pankaj Nath, Assam: Raksha Bandhan celebration was conducted by Lekhapani Battalion of Assam Rifles on 28 August 2026 at village Bordumsa, Arunachal Pradesh and village Lekhapani, Assam with warmth, enthusiasm and a strong sense of community, bringing together the personnel of Security Forces and members of the local civilian population in a spirit of unity and mutual respect.
The celebrations witnessed the participation of 10 civilians including local families and children, who joined in observing this cherished festival. Rakhis were tied to the personnel, symbolising the bond of trust, affection and protection, followed by the exchange of sweets and greetings. The occasion provided an opportunity to strengthen the enduring bond between the Assam Rifles and the local community. The presence and affection of the people served as a reminder of the close relationship that exists between the Security Forces and the citizens they serve. The celebrations reflected the spirit of “Nation First”, while highlighting the values of unity, brotherhood and togetherness that transcend the boundaries of uniform and civilian life. The Assam Rifles remain committed to fostering meaningful engagement with the local population and strengthening the bonds of trust and goodwill that form an integral part of the nation’s social fabric.
