Grand Inauguration of RSETI in Bishwanath by Assam Minister Atul Bora.

Pankaj Nath, Assam, 27 August : A new Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) was formally inaugurated at Panibharal in Bishwanath district today. The inauguration was performed by Assam’s Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development, Atul Bora. District administration officials, representatives of the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM), and delegates from Indian Bank joined a gathering of prominent local dignitaries for the ceremony. Key guests at the event included MP Ranjeet Dutt; Bishwanath MLA Pallablochan Das; Bihali MLA Munindra Das; former minister and Chairman of Assam Seed Corporation Prabeen Hazarika; Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sunita Tati; ASRLM Executive Director Kuntalmani Sharma Bardoloi; District Commissioner Karabi Saikia Karan; Zilla Parishad CEO Ranjit Kowar; Indian Bank Deputy General Manager Shashikant Das; and social worker Nayan Saikia.Following the inauguration,

Minister Atul Bora addressed the main function held at the auditorium of Bishwanath College of Agriculture. He described Bishwanath as a district full of potential, with hardworking farmers and enterprising youth. Bora emphasized that the new RSETI will provide local youth and farmers with modern training, technical knowledge, and entrepreneurship skills, enabling them to become self-reliant and improve their families’ and communities’ economic conditions. MP Ranjeet Dutta , MLA Pallablochan Das and ASRLM Director Kuntalmani Sharma Bardoloi also spoke at the programme, underscoring the institute’s significance. They said the training centre will be especially beneficial for those aiming to achieve self-sufficiency through self-employment and highlighted plans for collaboration between the RSETI, banks and ASRLM to ensure its success. The programme included an interactive session with roughly three dozen trainees present at the institute, during which they raised questions and shared their expectations. Dignitaries at the event described the new institute as an important community resource and expressed optimism about its role in local job creation and rural development.Organisers said the RSETI will soon begin rolling out training modules tailored to local needs, linking participants to credit and market support so trainees can convert skills into sustainable livelihoods.
