Pankaj Nath, Assam: Anurag Goel, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Assam, visited Morigaon district on Tuesday to review the preparedness of the district administration for the forthcoming Bye-Election . A meeting was chaired by the Chief Electoral Officer in the Conference Hall of the Office of the District Commissioner, Nagaon. During the meeting, District Commissioner Devasish Sharma, IAS, briefed the CEO on the overall administrative preparedness and arrangements being undertaken for the smooth conduct of the election. The Chief Electoral Officer reviewed various aspects of election preparedness, including logistical arrangements, EVM deployment and the functioning and coordination of different election-related cells. He directed the officials concerned to ensure timely completion of all necessary preparations and to maintain strict compliance with the guidelines and instructions issued by the Election Commission of India. The meeting was attended by Sr. Superintendent of Police V V Rakesh Raddy along with all Additional District Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, the Election Officer, Circle Officers, EVM Officers and Cell In-charges of Nagaon district, among others.
