Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated Indian PM Narendra Modi on India’s 80th Independence Day and praised the two countries’ longstanding ties. The message underscored Tehran’s readiness to deepen cooperation with India on the basis of mutual trust and shared interests.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, expressing Tehran’s desire to further deepen and expand relations between the two countries.
In a message to PM Modi through the Iranian embassy in India, Pezeshkian described India’s Independence Day as an opportunity to strengthen the longstanding and comprehensive ties between Iran and India.
He highlighted the deep historical, cultural and civilizational links between the two countries, as well as their people-to-people ties, saying these connections could serve as a valuable foundation for expanding bilateral relations based on shared interests.

Pezeshkian also reaffirmed Iran’s determination to strengthen its comprehensive relationship with India. He said Tehran was ready to take more effective steps to consolidate bilateral ties and advance the common interests of the two countries in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.
The Iranian president also wished for India’s prosperity, progress, welfare and happiness, while praying for the further strengthening and flourishing of the longstanding relationship between the two nations.
