Quetta/Islamabad: A strongly worded social media post linked to Baloch separatist voices has accused Pakistan’s military and Coast Guard of burning fishing boats belonging to local fishermen in Balochistan, escalating tensions in the restive province.

The post, shared on X, claimed that the destruction of the boats symbolised the “ashes of thousands of Baloch dreams” and alleged that Pakistan’s security forces were targeting the livelihoods of coastal communities dependent on fishing for survival.

These are not just boats you burned you burned our dreams. And one day, we will turn your very existence into ashes !!!

Describing the conflict in Balochistan as “a fight to protect our people,” the statement rejected Pakistan’s characterization of separatist activity as terrorism and instead accused Islamabad of exploiting the province’s land, coastline and natural resources through force.

The post further alleged widespread human rights abuses, including enforced disappearances and illegal detentions of Baloch people, while invoking the region’s historical resistance against foreign powers.

In inflammatory remarks, the message warned that “every act of oppression will be answered” and vowed that the Baloch nation would not “surrender to fear.”
