International Desk: On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the Republic of United Balochistan has issued a statement extending greetings to Buddhist communities worldwide, invoking the teachings of Gautama Buddha as a symbol of peace, compassion and moral clarity.
In its message, the group described the day as a “sacred and luminous occasion” marking the birth, enlightenment and passing of the Buddha, whose philosophy of non-violence and inner awakening continues to influence millions across generations.
The statement emphasised that the teachings associated with Buddhism resonate with “every struggle for dignity” and “every journey toward truth and justice,” linking the spiritual legacy of the Buddha to contemporary aspirations for harmony and human rights.
Extending solidarity to Buddhist communities, particularly within Balochistan and across Asia, the message acknowledged the enduring cultural and religious significance of the festival, widely observed in South, Southeast and East Asia.
It concluded with a call for global unity, expressing hope that “compassion overcomes hatred” and that humanity can move collectively towards a future defined by peace, understanding and justice.
The statement forms part of a broader effort by Baloch groups to frame their political narrative within themes of international solidarity and universal values.
