Amid escalating clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, a prominent and influential Baloch leader has publicly declared full support for Afghanistan, sharply condemning what he described as unprovoked military action by Pakistan.

In a strongly worded statement, the Baloch leader alleged that Pakistan initiated attacks on Afghanistan on February 22, the fifth day of Ramadan, and later questioned Afghan retaliation during the holy month. He criticized certain Pakistani scholars and politicians who, according to the statement, questioned the faith of Afghans, calling such claims historically and morally inconsistent.

Pakistan has attacked Afghanistan without any reason, but when the Afghans retaliate they get asked what kind of Muslims they are to attack other Muslims in the month of Ramadan. They don't remember what they did on the fifth day of Ramadan, February 22nd, 2026: they attacked…

The statement also accused Pakistan’s establishment of hypocrisy, arguing that it has long projected itself as a defender of Islam while being responsible for alleged extrajudicial killings of Baloch and Pashtun people. It further claimed that the political and military elite in Pakistan were uneasy over Afghanistan’s diplomatic outreach, including a recent visit by the Afghan foreign minister to India, which was reportedly portrayed by Pakistan as evidence of foreign alignment.

The Baloch leader emphasized that Afghanistan is a sovereign nation free to maintain relations with any country and rejected the notion that it falls within Pakistan’s sphere of influence. The statement further accused Pakistan of seeking international backing while claiming leadership of the Muslim world.

Reaffirming historical ties between Baloch and Afghans, the leader said the Baloch people stand with Afghanistan and condemned what he called aggression against the Afghan population, asserting that the relationship between the two communities has endured for centuries.
