Nagpur: More than 100,000 devotees witnessed the traditional Parcham Kushai ceremony marking the opening of the 104th Urs Mubarak of the revered Sufi saint, Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Awliya, as spiritual leaders from diverse faiths gathered at his dargah in Nagpur for a Sufi Interfaith Conference dedicated to national integration and communal harmony.
Organised jointly by the Bhartiya Sarv Dharam Sansad, the Chishty Foundation of Ajmer Sharif and the Baba Tajuddin Awliya Trust, the conclave underscored India’s enduring ethos of “unity in diversity” amid global conflicts and social divisions. Speakers from Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist and other traditions invoked the teachings of love, compassion and non-violence, describing the shrine as a living symbol of interfaith fellowship. The delegates also paid homage at Deekshabhoomi, reaffirming their commitment to the constitutional ideals of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. Cultural performances, including qawwalis, concluded the day’s proceedings, with participants resolving to carry forward the Urs’s enduring message: “Love Towards All, Malice Towards None.”
