New Delhi: Giving a major boost to infrastructure development in outer Delhi, Social Welfare Minister and Bawana MLA Ravinder Indraj Singh on Saturday launched development projects worth around ₹20 crore in Deep Vihar under the Urban Development Fund.

The projects include the construction of roads and drainage networks aimed at strengthening basic civic infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents of Deep Vihar and surrounding areas.

Addressing a public gathering, Singh said the area had long awaited better road connectivity and drainage facilities, and the newly launched projects reflected the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the people. He noted that the Urban Development Fund was helping accelerate infrastructure creation and ensure planned, sustainable development.

The Minister said development works were being carried out across the Bawana Assembly constituency on a priority basis, with a focus on ensuring that every colony benefits from improved civic amenities. Once completed, the projects are expected to provide smoother connectivity, cleaner surroundings and a more efficient drainage system.

Highlighting the Delhi Government’s development agenda under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Singh said roads, drains and other civic facilities were essential for public welfare and that adequate funds were being made available to fast-track infrastructure projects across the capital.

He asserted that the government was focused not merely on announcing projects but on delivering them within defined timelines. According to Singh, efforts are also underway to bridge development gaps between villages, unauthorised colonies and urban areas to ensure balanced and inclusive growth across Delhi.

Expressing confidence in the initiative, the Minister said the projects would transform Deep Vihar into one of the better-planned localities of the Bawana constituency, bringing lasting benefits to residents and strengthening the area’s civic infrastructure.
