BODH GAYA, India – Page3News Worldwide extends its most reverent and joyous birthday wishes to Phra Phrom Wachiraphothiwong (Wirayut Wirayuttho), Chief of the Dhammaduta (Buddhist Missionary) Monks for India and Nepal and Abbot of Wat Thai Buddhagaya, on the sacred occasion of his 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary.
In Thai Buddhist tradition, the completion of 72 years — six full 12-year cycles — is regarded as one of life’s most auspicious milestones. It signifies not merely longevity, but a life enriched by accumulated merit, wisdom, and selfless service to the Dhamma.
Venerable Phra Phromwachiraphotivong, head of the Indian-Nepal Dharma Mission and Abbot of Wat Thai Buddhagaya, has dedicated decades to strengthening the Buddha Sasana beyond Thailand’s borders. From Wat Thai Buddhagaya, the historic Thai temple established near the Mahabodhi Mahavihara — the sacred site of the Buddha’s enlightenment — he has guided thousands of pilgrims, nurtured generations of novice monks, and fostered enduring cultural and spiritual goodwill between Thailand, India, and Nepal.
Throughout his stewardship, Wat Thai Buddhagaya has remained a beacon of Thai hospitality, compassion, and devotion, offering refuge and Dhamma guidance to pilgrims from around the world. His tireless leadership in organizing royal merit ceremonies, Sangha Dana, and Vesak celebrations has deepened the spiritual bond between the three nations.
On this auspicious day, devotees, monks, nuns, and well-wishers across India, Nepal, Thailand, and beyond are marking the occasion with special chanting, alms offerings, lamp-lighting, and prayers for his long life, good health, and continued strength.
Page3News Worldwide joins the global Sangha and lay community in this circle of gratitude, celebrating a life lived in the noble service of the Dhamma.
May the Venerable be blessed with long life, serene health, and unwavering strength to carry the light of the Dhamma forward for many more cycles to come.
