New Delhi: The Republic of Balochistan has strongly condemned Pakistan’s reported airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Helmand provinces, alleging that the attacks killed 10 people, including women, infants and other civilians, and injured 11 others.
In a statement dated October 1, 2026, the Republic of Balochistan alleged that three residential houses were also destroyed in the strikes. It described the attacks as “unprovoked” and accused Pakistan of targeting unarmed civilians.
The statement claimed that Balochistan had faced Pakistani aerial bombardments, drone strikes and ground operations for decades. It further accused Pakistan of repeatedly violating Afghanistan’s and Balochistan’s territorial integrity and airspace, while undermining regional peace through military actions and what it described as expansionist policies.
The Republic of Balochistan alleged that attacks against civilians, women, children, livestock and civilian infrastructure could constitute serious violations of international humanitarian law and, where legally established, potentially amount to war crimes.
Calling for international intervention, it urged the international community to take notice of Pakistan’s actions and hold its state and military leadership accountable.
The statement also proposed that Kabul, in coordination with Balochistan, document and present evidence concerning alleged Pakistani aerial bombardments, drone strikes and other military operations before international legal institutions. It called for legal and diplomatic measures before relevant international forums, including the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, subject to their respective jurisdictions.
The Republic of Balochistan said independent investigations were necessary to establish facts concerning alleged violations of international law and to determine accountability.
It further called for closer cooperation between Afghanistan and Balochistan, invoking the historical figures of Mir Noori Naseer Khan Baloch and Ahmad Shah Baba as examples of regional unity against foreign domination.
The statement was issued in the name of Mir Yar Baloch on behalf of the Republic of Balochistan and was also shared on his Truth Social account.
