New Delhi: Delhi BJP President Shri Harsh Malhotra and senior party leaders paid floral tributes to former Delhi BJP President and veteran BJP leader Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra on his first death anniversary at a condolence programme held at the Delhi BJP office here on Tuesday.
Among those who paid tribute were Delhi BJP Co-Incharge Smt. Darshana Jardosh, senior BJP leaders Shri Jagdish Mukhi, Shri Ved Vyas Mahajan, Shri Subhash Arya, Shri Adesh Gupta, Shri Subhash Sachdeva, Dr. Vijay Jolly and Col. V. K. Oberoi.
State office-bearers and other leaders present on the occasion included Shri Vishnu Mittal, Smt. Yogita Singh, MLA Shri Anil Sharma, Shri Rajesh Bhatia, Shri Praveen Shankar Kapoor, Shri Kailash Jain, Shri Ranjit Kashyap, Smt. Richa Pandey, Shri Abhishek Tandon, Shri Manoj Kumar, Smt. Raj Gautam, Shri Amit Gupta, Shri Santosh Pal and Shri C. L. Meena, among others.
Paying his heartfelt tributes, Delhi BJP President Shri Harsh Malhotra described the occasion as an emotional moment for the party and recalled Prof. Malhotra as a senior BJP leader, Member of Parliament, former Delhi BJP President and a disciplined figure in Indian sports.
Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra had been associated with public life since the days of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and played an important role in strengthening the BJP’s grassroots connect in Delhi. He was remembered as an able organiser who represented simplicity, discipline, dedication and public service.
His contribution extended beyond politics. As President of the All India Council of Sports and the Archery Association of India, Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra worked towards promoting sports and encouraging the country’s youth to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle.
Shri Harsh Malhotra said Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra’s life would continue to inspire generations through his commitment to honesty, discipline, teamwork and service. He added that the Delhi BJP would carry forward his ideals and spirit of service while continuing to strengthen the party’s organisational base in the national capital.
