1.25 Lakh Diyas to Illuminate Kartavya Path as Delhi Marks PM Modi’s Birthday with Mega Seva Drive

New Delhi, September 16: Delhi is set to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with a series of major service and public-participation initiatives, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta leading a four-pronged programme centred on dedication, public service and community participation.

The Delhi government will organise the lighting of 1.25 lakh diyas at Kartavya Path, a mega blood donation camp at Thyagaraj Stadium, a 108-kund yagya at Khatu Shyam Delhi Dham and the launch of ‘Namo Shramik Seva Kendra’ for workers on Thursday.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the programmes will also mark 25 years of Prime Minister Modi’s public life. Under the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, the Delhi government will inaugurate projects and lay foundation stones for initiatives covering transport, roads, sewerage, water treatment, education, electricity, public facilities and urban beautification.

1.25 Lakh Diyas to Light Up Kartavya Path

Under the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ campaign, 1.25 lakh diyas will be lit at Kartavya Path at 7 pm on Thursday by beneficiaries of government schemes and other participants.

The programme, being organised under the leadership of CM Rekha Gupta, will symbolise public participation and the spirit of service under the guiding principle of ‘Jan Seva Se Desh Seva’.

Gupta has also appealed to Delhi residents to light an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ in their homes and courtyards between 6 pm and 7 pm. She said the diya would represent citizens’ prayers and wishes for the Prime Minister’s good health, long life and continued service to the nation.

Mega Blood Donation Camp Targets 2,500 Units

The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan will also feature a mega blood donation camp at Thyagaraj Stadium from 11 am to 5 pm, with a target of collecting 2,500 units of blood.

Blood banks from 11 Delhi government hospitals, along with the Army Hospital, Lady Hardinge College, Safdarjung Hospital and the Indian Red Cross Society, will participate.

Personnel and representatives from the Health Department, Delhi Police, Home Guards and Civil Defence, DTC, Revenue Department, MCD, NDMC, Delhi Fire Service, Education Department, NGOs, RWAs, Red Cross and the corporate sector are also expected to participate.

The Chief Minister has appealed to Delhi residents to join the blood donation initiative.

108-Kund Yagya and Hanuman Chalisa Recitation

A 108-kund yagya will be organised at Khatu Shyam Delhi Dham on GT Karnal Road in Alipur as a prayer and expression of good wishes for the Prime Minister’s health, longevity and continued service to the nation.

‘Namo Shramik Seva Kendra’ to Bring Services Closer to Workers

The Delhi government will launch the ‘Namo Shramik Seva Kendra’, aimed at bringing multiple worker-related government services together at one location.

The centres will assist workers with registration and renewal, document verification, application-status information, welfare schemes, claims and other related services.

CM Rekha Gupta said the objective is to reduce the need for workers to make repeated visits to government offices by making essential services available closer to them.

‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to Continue for a Month

Describing Prime Minister Modi’s public life as being centred on service to the nation, Gupta extended birthday wishes to him and said his journey from a humble family background to the office of Prime Minister had been marked by hard work, patriotism and dedication.

She said that during more than 25 years in public life, from serving as Gujarat Chief Minister to becoming Prime Minister, Modi had accorded priority to serving the nation.

The Chief Minister said citizens’ wishes, prayers and commitment to public service would be a meaningful expression of goodwill on the Prime Minister’s birthday, while praying for his good health and continued service to the country.
