New Delhi: BJP Delhi General Secretary and MCD Councillor from Kalkaji, Yogita Singh, has hit out at AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj over what she described as an “imaginary bicycle scam”, asserting that the procurement process was conducted transparently through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).
Singh said the procurement was carried out through the government-owned national procurement portal and followed the prescribed transparent procedure. She questioned the basis of allegations surrounding the bicycle procurement and rejected the suggestion that a scam had taken place.
Taking aim at Bhardwaj and the Aam Aadmi Party, Singh said the AAP should instead focus on accountability for what she described as the “misdeeds” committed during its 11 years in power in Delhi.
The BJP leader’s remarks came amid the political confrontation over allegations linked to bicycle procurement, with the BJP maintaining that the process was conducted through GeM and that there was no basis for the accusations.
Singh, who formerly served as Chairperson of the MCD Central Zone and is also a Director at the National Handloom Development Corporation, urged the AAP to provide accountability rather than raise allegations over a procurement process she said was transparent.
