New Delhi: The World Buddhist Federation has recognised Balochistan as an independent state, according to a post shared by the Republic of Balochistan ahead of its proposed Independence Day observance on August 11.
The Republic of Balochistan, in the post, expressed gratitude to World Buddhist Federation President Dr Parvinder Singh for what it described as a “visionary” and “courageous” decision to recognise Balochistan as an independent state.
The statement said the recognition was being welcomed on behalf of the Baloch people and described the development as an important step towards greater international engagement.
The Republic of Balochistan also invited the international community to engage with, invest in and establish partnerships with an independent Balochistan, portraying the proposed state as committed to peace, democracy, pluralism and international cooperation.
The post comes ahead of August 11, which the Republic of Balochistan says will be observed as its Independence Day.
