Prof. K. P. Singh’s commemorative volume on 80 years of Library Science excellence and Shri Vishwamohan Mishra’s Baijuraj released at a ceremony highlighting academic achievement, heritage and India’s knowledge traditions.

The Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Delhi marked a significant academic milestone by hosting the launch of two notable books—A Succinct: Kaleidoscopic Voyage of Academic Excellence of the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi, edited by Prof. K. P. Singh, and Baijuraj, authored by Shri Vishwamohan Mishra—celebrating scholarship, institutional legacy and India’s intellectual traditions.

The commemorative volume A Succinct chronicles the Department’s remarkable 80-year journey from 1946 to 2026, documenting its academic evolution, distinguished faculty, accomplished alumni, landmark achievements and contributions to Library and Information Science education and research in India. Richly illustrated and extensively researched, the publication serves as a lasting institutional record of eight decades of academic excellence.

The occasion also witnessed the release of Baijuraj, a work by young philosopher and Adya Jagani Peeth devotee Shri Vishwamohan Mishra, highlighting the life and enduring legacy of Maharani Baijuraj of the Pranami Sampradaya and reflecting India’s rich philosophical and spiritual heritage.

Chief Guest Jagadguru Dharmacharya Shri 108 Suryanarayandas Ji Maharaj, Head of Adya Jagani Peeth Shri 5 Mahamangalpuridham, Surat, congratulated both authors and underlined that education should nurture values, character and ethical consciousness alongside knowledge. He also expressed hope that the literary and philosophical traditions of the Pranami Sampradaya would eventually find a place in university curricula.

Presiding over the event, Prof. K. P. Singh reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to academic excellence, research, innovation and the promotion of India’s knowledge traditions. He described the dual book launch as a celebration of scholarship and heritage, reflecting the institution’s continued efforts to preserve and advance the discipline’s rich legacy.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Vishwamohan Mishra, who also conducted the proceedings. Faculty members, research scholars, students, devotees of the Adya Jagani Peeth and distinguished guests from academia attended the event, making it a memorable celebration of intellectual discourse and cultural heritage.
