20th book by noted academic documents eight decades of excellence, distinguished alumni and institutional milestones at the University of Delhi

New Delhi: The Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Delhi will host the launch of Prof. K. P. Singh’s latest publication today at 11:00 a.m., marking a significant academic occasion celebrating eight decades of excellence in library and information science education.
Titled A Succinct: Kaleidoscopic Journey of Academic Excellence of the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi, the commemorative volume chronicles the Department’s remarkable 80-year journey (1946–2026). The publication is the second revised edition of Prof. Singh’s 20th book and his sixth publication in 2026, underscoring his continued contribution to academic scholarship and institutional documentation.
The book presents a comprehensive account of the Department’s evolution through six thematic chapters, covering its pioneering academic achievements, distinguished alumni, memorable institutional milestones, Platinum Jubilee initiatives and its sustained pursuit of academic excellence over the past eight decades.
Designed as a tribute to the Department’s enduring legacy, the publication highlights the collective contributions of its teachers, students, alumni and academic leaders in shaping one of India’s leading centres for library and information science education.
The book launch, to be held at the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi, is expected to bring together academicians, researchers, alumni and students for discussions on the Department’s rich heritage and future direction. The programme will be followed by fellowship and interaction over lunch at 1:30 p.m.
