Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) created a record
Bangkok. For the first time in Thailand’s history, such a large-scale event was held. A “Mega Blood Donation Camp” was held with great fanfare in Bangkok under the auspices of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS). The Hindu Dharma Sabha Vishnu Mandir and the Indian Self-Care Team were particularly involved in this blood donation camp, along with the support of several other prominent organizations.
2 Major Occasions, 1 Great Donation
This sacred event was held on two significant occasions:
- The birthday of the 74th King of Thailand
- Hindu Swaraj Day – the coronation day of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
The message of “Blood Donation = Great Donation” was given. The chief guest of the event said that blood donation is a great donation and this pledge should always be dedicated in our lives.
Hundreds of youth, women, and elderly people participated enthusiastically in the camp, which included expatriate Indians and Thai citizens. A team of doctors and Red Cross volunteers were on duty throughout the day.
A Confluence of Sanatan and Thai Culture
The former Karyavah of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh said, “This is not just blood donation. This symbolizes the strengthening of the relationship between Thailand and India.”
Resonance in the community
Local Thai citizens also praised this initiative. People from all walks of life in Bangkok expressed their support for such an event every year.
Organizers’ Resolution: A mega blood donation camp will now be held once every year.
