New Delhi: The Centre has approved all 28 capital projects proposed by the Delhi Government under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, unlocking infrastructure investments worth ₹1,647 crore, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Sunday. The Union Government has also sanctioned an additional ₹756 crore as an incentive for Delhi’s enhanced capital expenditure from its own resources.
The approved portfolio includes key mobility and public infrastructure works such as Delhi Metro expansions, the Barapulla Elevated Corridor, the Karawal Nagar Flyover, EV charging stations at DTC depots and several road projects. According to the Chief Minister, the funding is expected to accelerate project execution, strengthen the Capital’s transport network and improve civic amenities. Gupta said the twin approvals underscore the Centre’s confidence in Delhi’s reform agenda, fiscal discipline and implementation capacity, adding that the Finance Department has been tasked with ensuring speedy coordination and timely completion of the projects in line with the vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”
