A young man of Indian origin in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada, has alleged that he was subjected to racial discrimination during a morning walk. According to the young man, an elderly woman directed offensive remarks at him. He later shared a video of the encounter on social media, where it quickly drew widespread attention and sparked discussion.

International Desk: A young man of Indian origin residing in Kentville, Nova Scotia, has alleged that he was subjected to racist remarks by an elderly woman while on his routine morning walk. The incident gained widespread attention after he shared a video of the encounter on social media.

According to the individual, the woman allegedly began making derogatory comments after noticing him and repeatedly told him to “go back to India.” He stated that as the situation became increasingly uncomfortable, he decided to record the interaction using his mobile phone.

In a post accompanying the video, the young man said the incident had a significant emotional impact on him and affected the rest of his day. However, he stressed that the actions of one individual should not be used to judge the broader community. He noted that the majority of Kentville residents are welcoming, respectful, and opposed to discriminatory behavior.

The man also encouraged others who experience similar incidents to speak out against racism and discrimination rather than remain silent. He emphasized that prejudice and racial intolerance have no place in a modern and inclusive society.

Following the video’s circulation online, numerous social media users voiced support for the young man and condemned the woman’s alleged behavior. Many highlighted Canada’s reputation as a multicultural nation that values diversity and inclusion, while others commended the individual for maintaining composure throughout the encounter.

The incident comes amid ongoing public discussions in countries such as Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom regarding immigration, housing affordability, inflation, and employment opportunities. Experts note that periods of economic and social uncertainty can sometimes contribute to increased hostility toward immigrant communities, despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of citizens and institutions continue to reject racism and embrace cultural diversity as a societal strength.
