An X post calling for a major shift in India’s regional strategy has sparked discussion online after urging New Delhi to move away from what it described as “failed Track-II diplomacy” with Pakistan and instead pursue direct engagement with Balochistan’s leadership.
The post argued that Balochistan possesses significant geopolitical importance due to its energy reserves, trade corridors, and strategic maritime access, claiming that stronger ties with the region could reshape South Asia’s political and economic landscape.
The author accused Pakistan’s military establishment of maintaining a long-standing policy of hostility toward India and promoting instability in the region. The post further claimed that Pakistan would become “more aggressive and more radicalized” if it gained greater economic or strategic strength.
The statement also advocated support for Balochistan’s independence movement, arguing that an independent Balochistan could weaken Pakistan’s regional influence while creating new opportunities for secure energy routes, regional connectivity, and economic cooperation.
In addition, the post called for India to strengthen long-term relations with both Balochistan and Afghanistan, portraying them as potential partners for regional peace and development rather than sources of instability.
The remarks reflect growing debate among some strategic commentators over India’s future regional approach, particularly amid continuing tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad. However, the views expressed in the post remain politically sensitive and are likely to draw strong reactions from Pakistan, which considers Balochistan an integral part of its territory and has consistently opposed foreign involvement in the region.
