International Desk: Amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, reports have surfaced describing an incident that has shocked observers. According to Palestinian media, Israeli soldiers allegedly used the infant, Kareem Abu Nasser, as a means of pressure against his father. The reports claim that during interrogation, the child was burned with cigarettes and had nails driven into his feet to coerce a confession from his father.
Father and Son Stopped While Collecting Supplies
The child’s father, Osama Abu Nasser, stated that he was on his way with his son to collect essential supplies near the Al-Maghazi Refugee Camp when they were stopped by Israeli soldiers. According to Osama, both were forcibly taken to a military checkpoint. He alleged that he was stripped and interrogated, while his young son was tortured in front of him. The reported aim was to extract a forced confession.

The child was later handed back to his family with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), although the father is reportedly still in custody.
